It is a
sad, but true fact that millions of children are born into
destitution. Without enough nourishment to develop a
health body they become vulnerable to diseases that
regular children are able to resist. In many cases, their
tender bodies give in, and give out, to preventable
diseases such as diarrhea and malaria. Beautiful lives are
plucked away, even before they are bloomed.
One out of
every two childhood death is linked to hunger and
malnutrition. Each day, some 1600 children die in India to
diarrhea. If this is hurting, even worse is the condition
of children who do not have anyone to call parents.
Social
system and financial conditions prevent one out of every
five children in India from going to school. Illiterate
children almost never experience a childhood. They are
dragged into child labor, mafia rings, or even worse, into
child trafficking. Once trapped, there is rarely an escape
to a normal life!
These
lives are dear to the heart of God, and so are they to
Sanma! In the state of Andhra Pradesh, Sanma operates a
small children’s home named Grace Children’s Home. It is a
home for the defenseless children. They are provided with
a place to call home, cared by people whom they can call
“parents”, and other children they can consider as their
siblings.
In order
to provide each child a sense of being part of a
community, the Sanma Children’s Home locate a family who
will provide the children a home. Sanma helps the families
with the expenses of the child, and monitor the life of
the child. Operating in this manner, Sanma is able to help
more children, in a very cost efficient fashion. In this
arrangement, a child’s living expenses can be met in a
family setting with as low as $15. Tax deductible
contributions you make towards this project will change
many young lives.
You may wish to make your contribution simply the old fashion
way too. Please print out this Charitable Contribution Form
and mail to us.
