Church Planting Ministry in India and South Asia - Why Not You?
Donated by a Congregation in the US |
Do you remember Paul's letters to the churches of the New Testament? Do you remember the joy he had in greeting those churches in which he had helped in planting? Would you like to share in that same kind of joy in the ministry of church planting? You now have the opportunity!
The South Asia Native Missionary Alliance (SANMA) is actively working to evangelize South Asia which includes planting new Christian churches throughout the region. SANMA missionaries are carrying the Gospel of Jesus to the remote villages of India, and as a result of this, many people are coming to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. These new converts begin their walk with Jesus in Bible study groups and services which are held in the homes of other believers. As the congregation of the community grows, a more suitable place of worship becomes a pressing need. Although the Christian members sacrificially give to fulfill the needs of the church, in most cases they are unable to construct a building. The average Christian church in South Asia today is too young to carry the entire cost of the construction of a church building. This is where you and SANMA come together to help fill this need.
There are many ways that you can help SANMA in the ministry of Christian Church Planting. Support for this ministry usually comes from individuals, couples, churches, Christian organizations, and businesses. The three major ways to help in this ministry are prayer, financial support, and mission trips.
Prayer Support |
Prayer groups are needed to support these fledgling churches from their conception, through their construction, and into their mission. You form the prayer group, and SANMA will provide all the information necessary to support your efforts. SANMA can provide you with the name of the church and the town or village where the church is being constructed. The pastor and congregation will also need your prayer support, especially due to the intense persecution that Christians face in South Asia. Your prayer group may be made up of your family, your friends, or your brothers and sisters from your church home. If God is leading you to be an intercessor for an overseas church, please contact SANMA via email, fill out our prayer team volunteer form, or contact our Arlington, TX office by phone at (800) 726-6214.

Financial help is another way in which you can share in the ministry of establishing churches overseas. The entire cost to construct a new church building in South Asia is roughly $9,000 USD. Yes, this is a lot of money, but it is nothing compared to what we spend in the US to build a new church. It is also nothing compared to the treasures you will store up in heaven.
One option you might consider is starting a "Church Planting Fund" at your place of worship. There are many ways that the entire congregation can get involved in contributing toward establishing a new church abroad. Children’s groups can have bake sales; the youth could offer car washes, while the senior ladies might prefer afghan and quilt raffles. The ideas are limited only by your imagination.
If God is leading you to get involved in this overseas ministry, please contact SANMA via email, fill out our volunteer form, or contact our Arlington, TX office by phone at (800) 726-6214. You may also arrange for a representative of SANMA to speak to your congregation or group.
Mission trips - such as construction and prayer groups - are also available to aid in this ministry. If your desire is to be actively involved in the construction process, an overseas mission trip is one possible solution.
