400 million micro-farmers under-utilize their capacity due to lack of basic tools and farm animals that help to prepare the land. Each micro-farmer can produce enough to feed two families for an entire year.

Children who live in the slums are constantly exposed to contaminated soil, and are infected by the soil transmitted worm disease, helminthes. Sanma educates people ways to prevent helminthes, and provides shoes.
